DEFECT DETAILS:

It would appear that when an item is dropped near a campfire it is impossible to pickup the item again. This could be very costly if an expensive item was dropped.

REPRODUCING:

To reproduce the bug stand near a campfire in usable distance and CTRL click an item in your inventory so it drops to the ground. Now try picking it up again, you wont be able to do this.
